As part of fully implementing and executing on the Influencer & Accelerant strategy, aligned our Salesforce fields and data. The big picture is that we retired some old poorly used fields (including a yes/no “Influencer” field and an “Influencer Reason” field that had an outdated list of types/segments) and created 2 new specific-purpose fields called “Influencer Type” and “Accelerant Type” which are multipick fields. To the degree possible, we “backfilled” the “Influencer Type” field based on the fields we retired.

Key facts:

  • Account field called “Influencer Type” that defaults to “Unreviewed” and should be set to any/all of the “Segments” where the Company is an Influencer

  • Account field called “Accelerant Type” that defaults to “Unreviewed” and should be set to any/all of the “Segments” where the Company is an Accelerant

  • These fields are in the “Influencer Status” section on the Account page

  • Only designated team members can modify these fields (those who have the “Influencer Manager” permission set).

  • The value options are: Impact Leader, Inclusive Economy Leader, Large Private Company, Public Company, Rising Star, Unreviewed, None

  • Any values except for “Unreviewed” or “None” means the company is an Influencer (or Accelerant). We no longer have a redundant “yes/no” field for Influencer.

In the screenshot below, you can see in the “Influencer Status” section that this Account (Klean Kanteen) is an Influencer and their segment is “Impact Leader”.
